Luytens & Rubinstein, Notting Hill
A new bookshop in Notting Hill.
We worked with architects de Rosee & Sa to create an important independent bookshop in the area.
The shop is laid out over two floors and incorporates an office for the owners, who are also literary agents, in the basement with bookshelves acting as a sliding wall to separate the bookshop from the office. The shelving system also allows for great flexibility and can provide seating if required as well as a high density of book stock within a very compact floor area. The counter units are on castors to provide scope in the layout of the shop.
The project was short-listed for the 2010 Architects Journal Small Projects Award.
